Went from 250mbps to 150. I noticed the channel wifi channel is on a channel that wasnt used on the xb6. The channel right now is 42 and on the xb6 it was a much higher channel which made for much faster speeds. I can't change the channel since xfinity ...It's infuriating. Xfinity claims the gateway knows the best way to sort out the connections; sorry, but no, it doesn't. Xfinity, give us back control of the XB8 gateway. Edit: It seems Xfinity has made this no control a permanent change on ALL of the modems. What a crock.Nov 15, 2020 · On the XB7 under Gateway > Connection > WAN Network there is a dropdown for DOCSIS /Ethernet/Auto. When you change it to Ethernet then under Gateway > Hardware > LAN Ethernet, Port 4 shows as WAN Ethernet. Set to Auto could this be a dual wan failover setup? Primary from the Comcast, secondary from another WAN source plugged in to Port 4 ? On ... Update, after my initial fiasco of going in store, ordering online, getting an X1 box instead of modem, returning x1, ordering xb8 and getting an XB7, calling 3 times, I went to return the XB7 to my local store and to my surprise, the store had received an unexpected shipment of the XB8. Was looking at Comcast's web site and saw that they have started to roll out the CGM4331COM / XB7 to select markets. Specs show that the modem has a maximum data throughput of 2.5 Gbps. On the back, the XB7-T has 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 Telephone ports. This doesn't have to affect the channel that was selected in the GUI. My APs (Uqibuiti) operate in this way when DFS channels are selected. Of course, the XB7 may have different logic in automatic channel selection, but this is very much an XB7 specific hardware/software question, not an AC/AX question..
